If you love Thai food, you’ll LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant! Introduced to me by a special someone, this Thai restaurant has it all – from Tofu Satay to Curry to Sticky Rice with Thai Egg Custard for dessert – Titaya’s Thai Cuisine on North Lamar Blvd in Austin, TX has an awesome menu filled with various Thai dishes.
However, featured in this post is their Gang Garee (Thai Yellow Curry with chicken, potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and onions in coconut milk), and it was, by far, the most delicious curry dish that I have ever had. The flavors of this dish set it apart from all other curry recipes that I have tried: The aroma of the coriander, turmeric, ginger, and coconut made me just want to lap up all of that sauce. In fact, this dish was so good that I asked for a To Go container for the sauce (the next day I poured it over some brown rice for my lunch – YUM). If you do not care for spicy dishes (and it is difficult with Thai because Thai food is pretty spicy), this would be an excellent dish to go with as it is very mild.
The next time you are in North Austin and are feeling Thai food, go here. Seriously. You will not be disappointed.
